The stove is great for boiling water, which is generally all I expect from a tiny canister stove like this.

This same logic applies to frying pans and you may be able to get by with a pan slightly larger than the 5 3/4 inch TOAKS frying pan mentioned above, but don’t push this too much. I expect that I have done over 150 boils, which includes 15-20 minute burns while doing snow melting duties. L) of water from a natural source (~15C/52F) in about 2'30" to 2'50" depending on air temperature, water temperature, wind, etc.I use mine to boil water which takes a few minutes with it throttled back and there is no more sign of the ti arms overheating than in a Soto stove.

The BRS-3000T doesn’t win any prizes for stability, but that being said, provided you don’t overload it and use cookware that isn’t too wide, the stove is generally stable. I usually just prop my pack on its side upwind and that suffices but something (metal) tighter to the stove and pot can be more efficient. But remember the issue I have when screwing it on to the fuel canister; if this doesn’t bother you then go for it.I’ve boiled pasta and reheated small portions of stews and chili with this pot on the BRS-3000T and it was pretty precarious. You have to screw it on real tight right up to the bottom lip of the thread of the fuel canister just to achieve a closed seal so no fuel escapes. I bought two of them and the one above (in its cute little stuff sack given to me my Gary Dunckel) has got a huge amount of time on it… I couldn’t even begin to guess how much because I used it many hours for cold-weather fuel testing and fuel consumption testing… and have used it a lot in the field. The pot supports of a BRS-30 If you want to add stability to your canister, you can purchase stands like the one used with the Jetboil Flash to make it more secure.

Stoves that don’t have regulators need to be constantly monitored and adjusted to keep the cook flame consistent. After I used it once I now use it for all my backpacking trips: so small and lightweight I cannot feel it and yet does the job to my satisfaction. The boil time of the BRS-3000T at high elevation and in cold temperatures is affected more by the canisters it uses than the stove itself. I do the annual maintenance on my MSR liquid stoves using the maintenance parts kit, have a drawer full of o-rings for the fuel bottles that attach to my MSR liquid stoves (WhisperLite and DragonFly), and another drawer full of gaskets for my Svea 123 fuel cap. With the wider pots the trick is to orient the pot so the handle is against one of the legs then it will be stable. This is not an exact science because how much fuel is required depends on many different factors, but from my statistics during an average overnight trip I boil roughly 2 liters of water for 3 meals and drinks for 2 people and this stove burns about 30 g of butane in 11 minutes for this task, which would estimate roughly 36 minutes of burning time for a small 100 g canister and 1 hour and 15 minutes of burning time for a large 220 g canister.

After reading you review of the BRS 3000T and the Amicus and Windmaster – I wonder if the extra weight of the stove would be worth the savings in fuel? Despite not being a stove particularly suited to colder, wintry conditions, Three Points of the Compass used the BRS 3000-T stove to simply boil water on a winter hike of the South Downs Way in 2018. And before you do that, you should take it apart to see if the seals are cut and/or it has metal shavings inside. This is a truly tiny stove measuring around 37mm x 52mm when folded, or some 60mm x 70mm maximum width with pot supports unfolded, or 82mm including the unfolded and protruding wire valve control.Removing the stove from the fuel canister is also difficult as I had to tighten it so much just to get a decent seal in the first place. As a side note, there are instructions out there to replace the burner on a Jetboil Ti Sol with one of these which is supposed to lighten the Jetboil by 3 ounces. My second attempt addressed the concern about the tank potential overheating my replacing the bottom section of flashing with a wire stand (clothes hanger). However, like an Olympic gymnast standing next to a regular-sized person, the BRS-3000T makes the other stoves look big.
