In 2014, More ABBA Gold was remastered and re-released once again as part of the “40th Anniversary Edition”, which contains Gold, More ABBA Gold, and a bonus disc containing B-sides. While still including the full-length version of “The Visitors”, it uses the original 7'‘ edit of “Eagle”.

The Australian release featured the European track list, not the Australasian track list on the 1999 issue. Tretow producer: Benny Andersson ( ABBA) and Björn Ulvaeus alto saxophone and tenor saxophone: Lars O. The 2008 version has an over emphasised 'base beat', probably to try and appeal to younger post-Mamma Mia fans who expect a lot of base. Listening to this compilation, you might be hit with the realization that you were never really getting the full story - that's certainly how it felt for me, anyway.

I believe that music becomes more intimate if it is based on life's experiences and these two albums always make me think about what might have been. It has never been deleted and re-issued, just new editions and pressings made available for the same chart run. Included two discs: the original CD (using the 2008 remasters), and a DVD of the video clips, remastered in 2010.Having said that, earlier versions are now secondhand therefore it goes without saying that you should look for as near as 'mint' as possible. I would recommend it as another good choice of Abba songs, I bought this CD as members of my family had recently watched Mama Mia the movie and one of my daughters liked a few songs that were not on Abba gold V(1)such as "I do, I do " and " Last Summer " and they were on Abba Gold Vol(2). Writing for Pitchfork in 2019, reviewer Jamieson Cox agreed, describing Gold: Greatest Hits as a "refined package with surprising emotional range". In 2018 ABBA announced they had recorded two new songs, their first new music in 35 years, In November 2021 the band released comeback album Voyage, which became their first Number 1 studio album in 40 years, and the fastest-selling album in the UK in over four years as it racked up 204,000 chart sales in its opening week.

If ABBA's "artsiness" was a much later development, then how do you explain 1977's "Eagle," which sounds like a perfect fusion of Giorgio Moroder, Pink Floyd and Station to Station-era Bowie? The best way to measure long term importance of an album is clearly through amount of sales, making Gold number 2 and Queen greatest hits a clear Number One. Several years back, I wound up purchasing all of ABBA's studio albums on CD and the first thing I did was recreate that cassette by making myself a 2 CD-R set containing Greatest Hits on one disc and Greatest Hits Volume 2 on the other. When All Is Said And Done' a single in some countries also deserved much more exposure as it is in my books on a par with 'The Winner Takes It All'. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Voyage was preceded by the release of two singles, one of which - Don't Shut Me Down - landed at Number 9, giving ABBA their first Top 10 hit on the Official Singles Chart since 1982. My first copy of this album became defective so I replaced it, so this is a second listening within a couple of days.
