Still better than not using it, imho, with its wider field of view than staying with eye planted in the EVF and the blackout of surrounding area for BIF stuff.

To be fair Jeff, and very respectfully (as you are undoubtedly talented) a flock of birds is fairly easy without a dot slight, It's when you are tracking a single fast moving bird moving across the sky and you have a second or so to not only find it but to lock focus as well. You’ll be able to tell whether your aim is right on target or slightly off without looking through the camera’s viewfinder or using the monitor. Try the trick of keeping both eyes open and the free eye will give you heaps of peripheral vision when tracking. Fast and easy trade in service ensures your old gear is collected efficiently and you are paid quickly! If you use a system camera, then you can sometimes move your eye to the screen on the back of the camera, so that you are certain that it’s working properly.

I make/sell a hotshoe sight rail that allows you to use any red dot sight of your choosing; and there are others as well. It doesn't matter if the alignment is a degree or 2 off because the sight has alignment screws for shooting adjustment. On the side, there is a dial to turn it On/Off and change the brightness intensity (5 steps available). I'd agree with the comments above though about proper setting up of the EE-1 before shooting, and whilst a tripod or such support probably isn't essential, it does make the job much easier if you can lock the camera down, focus on something at a suitable distance (using single point AF), then adjust the up/down, left/right positioning of the sight to match without fear of the camera moving. Through our business activities, we aim to contribute to global society by making these things happen. Overall I found the Olympus EE-1 to be an interesting accessory especially for those like me who have little experience with bird photography. The more distinct your point of reference is (for example a tree or a farm), the easier it becomes to configure the EE-1.

I find it valuable for very small/fast subjects and for tighter compositions (longer focal lengths); but it does become more of a spray-and-pray situation because you aren't actually seeing the composition/focus. Installing the battery requires pressing a tiny button with something like a ballpoint pen but otherwise is easy. The advantage of using the EE-1 when shooting is that you can keep your camera further away from your eyes and keep track of what is going on around your subject. If your RDS alignment is perfect then you can let the camera use its own pinpoint focus system that has been aligned with it. This product has been thoroughly tested by our team of photographers and we are happy to give a 6 month warranty as a result.I first found out about this type of framing by virtue of the Kontur type of viewfinder marketed by Voigtlander in the 1950's for use on Rangefinder-style film bodies. David, I have edited in image links since I made the first post - you may have missed them when replying to my initial post.
